Media Credentials

Journalists interested in obtaining a press credential for the press filing center should send the following information to CNNDebate@CNN.com. Media will be required to present photo identification and a company ID upon check-in at the press file center. Please note the credential will grant the journalist access to the filing center and the Spin Room, not the debate hall.

Please submit:

  • Full Legal Name
  • Title/Company
  • Medium (i.e., Print, Television, Radio, Online) 
  • Phone Numbers (office and cell) 
  • E-mail Address 
  • Supervisor Name and Contact Information (phone and e-mail)

NOTE: Deadline for a press credential requests is Wednesday, July 18.

Phone Orders: Phone orders for sat trucks and the press filing center must be made directly to AT&T. There will be a charge for phone lines, and there will be an additional charge for an actual phone handset, if that is requested. Please e-mail requests to Susan Smith at susan.d.smith@att.com AND  copy Terry Lewis at terry.lewis@att.com. Please note that cell and Blackberry service can be spotty in some parts of The Citadel campus.
NOTE: Deadline for debate phone orders is Monday, July 16. 

Wired Internet and WiFi Internet Service: CNN will provide free wireless Internet service in the press filing center and Spin Room. Information on ordering Wired Ethernet, if needed, is forthcoming.

The press filing center will be open to journalists beginning at noon on the day of the debate. Please note that there will be monitors in the filing center for viewing. There will also be a video mult-box with a limited number of plugs-ins available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

An advisory detailing additional logistical information, including the exact locations of the press filing center and the Spin Room, will be issued in the coming weeks. Excerpting instructions are also forthcoming. As previously announced, all 2008 CNN debate footage will be available without restriction upon the conclusion of each debate.
