Presidential Candidates Begin Filing

Columbia, SC- Presidential candidates wishing to be placed on the South Carolina Democratic primary ballot for next year's presidential primary election can begin filing with the Party today.
The SCDP opened filing Monday, Oct. 22 at 9 a.m. In order to file, candidates must meet eligibility requirements and pay a filing fee of $2,500 or have 3,000 registered South Carolina voters' signatures on a petition.
Filing will end at noon Thursday, Nov. 1. The SC Executive Council will meet to review and certify presidential candidates. South Carolina Democratic chair will provide ballot names to the South Carolina Election Commission on Nov. 1.
