Sanford\'s Lockheed vote
September 26, 2007
Columbia SC-South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler
released the following statement on Governor Sanford's Budget and
Control Board vote against saving 1200 Lockheed Martin jobs in
Greenville:
"Once again, Governor Sanford baffles South Carolinians with his idea
of leadership. This time, he voted AGAINST economic development that he
claims to support. When the governor talks about economic development
he always says South Carolina needs to get soil conditions right. But
what we really need right now is rain. Governor Sanford needs to leave
soil conditions to the Clemson Extension Service and allow the
Department of Commerce to make South Carolina competitive."
